I've always wanted to have a spectacular red gown since I had seen "Tanz der Vampire" and Winona Ryders amazing bustle gown in "Bram Stoker's Dracula", but as I started to get obsessed with Rococo and period correct living history stuff, I never really had a chance to do something like that.
So I finally had my way when I had to make something from another period for school. I fell in love with that colour (I already got invitations for having a glass of red wine because of it, lol), so a red bustle evening gown will definately follow some day.

Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often. :katana:

This gown is simply stunning. The fabric choice is great and the trim suits it well.

<teenzo> I work at renaissance faires, so I'm used to not breathing.

<solthiel>Ahhh... so you're one of those cute girls that all the fat nerds hit on... that must suck.
Thanks a lot! I think I have fallen in love with your signature. LOL

That gown is just gorgeous!! What patterns did you use?
Thank you very much! I used the 1660s bodice from Janet Arnold's "Patterns of Fashion" and the pattern for rococo stays from [link] as guidelines. The skirt didn't need a pattern, it's just a retangular piece of fabric sewn together and knife pleated to a waist band.

Amazing dress! I'm sure this is an incredible stunner in person. ^_^
