So, another dress made with a pattern from GosuRori Vol. 10. I love this one with that clever back. I now also have a hairband in the same tartan-like fabric.

I'm wearing it with a 35-yard chiffon petticoat with lace at the hems. It looks like cotton candy! What you see in the back, though, is a sewn in fake underskirt that only has a back part.

The dress is based on Victorian maiden styles, like most of my stuff.

I wore it on the train today and a man spoke to me when I stood up:
Man: "I'm sorry madam, I think your skirt is stuck in your waistband."
Me: *panicky* "Oh really?!" *frantically turning round* "Oh, you mean that? That's meant to be that way."

A woman joined in the conversation:
Woman: "It was nice of him to point out though. ...Is that a proper petticoat?"
Me: "Yes." *lifts hem an inch*
Man: "Oh, do you do squaredance?"
Me: "Erm, no. It's actually based on something japanese."

Sooo bizarre! I feel pretty.

oh emm gee. I love this so much! It is so pretty! I ♥ the ruffles and the ruching... and the bow on the back. So lovely.

There is a strange resemblance though between lolita dresses and square-dancing dresses. I think square dancers are just old lolitas using square-dancing as an excuse!

And you should feel pretty, this is gorgeous. ♥

Thank you! I do sort of like that I still look grown up in it. Don't like the really pink fluffy plush bunny type lolitas. So I see how he came to the squaredance idea.

heh, I like the pink fluffy ones too... but I couldn't wear that sort of thing outdoors. I live in a city that isn't really subject to lost of fads and people do stare at you crossly if you decide to veer off the path a little. I wore my blue 1880's hat on a regular day, and people were asking me all sorts of questions. Heck, they were even inquisitive on Halloween when I wore it.

Yay for frilly things. Let's bring back corsets and frilly things!

So pretty. I love the blue/green and black plaid you used.

Thank you! There was the same one in red, yellow and grass green, but that one really wins by far, doesn't it?

It's actually more some kind of plum. With "cassis" as the term on the package it sounded more noble...
