I have a recommendation for you today.
You know how I am going on about my wedding and how it will be all period rococo and so on? Well, today my shoes arrived, and they are gorgeous:

You might wonder why I show you those. I do because I actually get asked quite a lot where to get period shoes (which is so much more difficult in Europe than it might be in the states).
These are made by Sarah Juniper from [link]
Good things about her:
a) Absolutely period correct and handmade. No rubber soles or left & right shoes.
b) Individual. Unlike many big companies in the United States, she has no readymade standard collection. She always makes shoes to measure, and you can pick the design from beginning to end. Each pair will very likely be made from another scrap of leather or fabric. They will be unique and fit more comfortable than any standard-size shoe you ever owned in your life.
c) Good for all Europeans in particular: Smaller shipping fees and no customs fees. Good for all Germans in particular: She also has a German bank account, saves you from needing a credit card or having to pay horrendous bank transfer fees.
The shoes might seem expensive on the first glance, but as they are made to measure, they will never ever hurt you, squeeze or rub you. They last for ages, and she does repairs as well. And they are handmade.
No one would expect a custom-fit, handmade dress to be cheap, so why should shoes be?
So, if you have been needing period shoes for a while and you weren't quite sure yet, or you need them damn quick, I recommend ordering right now: At the moment that crafty lady would be able to start on your pair right now.
I get nothing out of recommending her to you, except for the good feeling that I can do my little part to keep that fantastic workshop busy and that I gave you the most honest recommendation for the perfect museum-quality period attire.
-------
PS: I finally ordered a half-wig to get a fluffy 1780s hairstyle without having to trouble myself much. Curls never last long in my smooth, long, heavy hair, so I'm getting a curly half-wig for the front and the back part, where many 1780s people had the hair hanging smoothly, will be my own.
For all of you who'd rather make it themselves, Vivcore has a fantastic how-to. [link]
For the ones who prefer the towering Marie Antoinette 1770s look, Kendra also has a great tutorial.

Hab dich grade auf meine Beobachtungsliste gesetzt. Mache mit ein paar Freunden auch einige historische Nähprojekte und deine Sachen sind einfach toll.
